SFF Intern

Full time, Fixed-Term Contract

The SFF Intern is responsible for working with the Festival Directors for programming initiatives of the festival, helping with social media and videography during the festival, and assisting with editing video content from the festival. 

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Understanding of Canadian and international film industries is an asset.

  • Experience working for a film festival or large scale event is an asset.

  • Assisting with preparing, shooting photographs/video, editing.

  • Assisting with social media.

  • Assisting with festival programming, knowledge of FilmFreeway an asset.

  • Watching selected films with programming in mind.

  • Meet with the programming team to discuss the films and put together the final festival program.

  • Creating SFF publications including press releases, printed/online collateral, and all film webpages.

  • Assisting Festival Directors during the festival. 

  • Coordinates and supports hiring of seasonal crew for the festival.

  • Knows Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, Canva.

 

Job Specifications

  • Intermediate English writing skills, including press releases and online content.

  • Proficiency with Google Suite, in particular Docs, Sheets, Presentations, and Gmail.

  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Davinci, Metricool, WIX, and Square is considered an asset.

 

Wages & Duration

Term: 52 weeks 

Salary: $18.50/hour 

Must be a Northern Ontario Resident to apply, preferably someone located in Sault Ste Marie with some knowledge of the film and television industry.
