Marketing Assistant
Full time, Fixed-Term Contract
The Marketing Assistant works with the SFF board to ensure consistent branding and messaging for the Sault Film Festival and SFF Creative Hub across all media platforms. The Marketing Assistant will work with a strategic marketing plan, and develop and execute marketing campaigns for the annual “Sault Film Festival”, “Summer Camps”, and other programming, from initial planning to final reporting. The Marketing Assistant is responsible for assisting with all aspects of communication, including social media, website maintenance, public relations, print media, content writing, digital marketing, radio, billboards, newsletters and more.
Responsibilities and Duties

Implement marketing plan and strategy to achieve SFF’s goals.

Assist in managing the website including updates, layout, content writing and creation, SEO and analysis.

Assist in writing content to support communications and marketing efforts such as the organization’s website copy, newsletters, brochures, press releases and other documents, as required.

Assist in planning, coordinating and executing social media marketing, including photo taking, posting and ad campaigns.

Assist in the planning and leading of promotional events, such as press conferences or media announcements.

Design and layout marketing materials such as signage, pamphlets, ads, flyers, etc. and exhibit displays, as required.

Participate in outreach initiatives.

Participate in marketing and fundraising committee meetings.

Interaction with the public, external agencies and authorities, suppliers, contractors and staff shall result in positive acts and actions.

Ensures work is performed in a safe manner according to the Occupational Health & Safety Act and SFF health and safety policies.

Ensures that records and documents are organized, accurate, safely stored and available when required.

Ensures SFF’s brand image is always represented in the best light.

Ensures SFF guests are provided with the best experience possible.
Job Specifications

Recently graduated from a post-secondary education program in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field.

Intermediate English writing skills, including press releases and online content.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Experience in graphic design and knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.

Proficiency with Google Suite, in particular Docs, Sheets, Presentations, and Gmail.

Knowledge of Metricool, WIX, and Square is considered an asset.

The ability to create content and schedule posts and ads on social media and other digital marketing platforms.

Demonstrated innovation and creativity.

Organizational and time management skills.

Previous experience in a not-for-profit organization is considered an asset.
Wages & Duration
$17.60 to $18.50
35 hours per week
